The 2008 Frederick Celtic Festival will be held on Saturday, May 10th, 2008, at the Urbana VFD Fairgrounds.
The Festival will begin at 10:00am and go until 6:00pm. Vendors will begin closing their stalls then, and the evening concert starts at 7:00pm.

Frederick Scottish Country Dancers
Scottish Country Dancing is the traditional ballroom damce of Scotland. It's fun, friendly, beautiful, and the dance music is joyous and lively. The Frederick Scottish Country Dancers have been holding classes and giving dance performances since 1994. For more information, visit their website.
Tir na nOg Irish Dance Troupe

Thistle Dancers
The Thistle Dancers is a group of talented young dancers who perform the traditional dances of Scotland. Formed in 1998, they have performed extensively throughout Northern Virginia, Southern Maryland, and the Washington DC area. Annually The Thistle Dancers perform at the National Tartan Day in Washington, DC; the Potomac Celtic Festival in Leesburg, VA; and the Scottish Heritage Festival in Alexandria, VA. These dancers have also performed at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC, at local nursing homes, private weddings, and various Robert Burns Celebrations.
Beaton School of Irish Dance
Beaton School is affiliated with the Betty Jane's Center for Dance Art in Frederick.
St. John's Irish Folk Dancers
The St. John's Irish Folk Dancers are students at the St. John Regional Catholic School in Frederick. Irish dance clasees are offered as an after school activity to girls in grades 4-8. They are instructed by school principal, Mrs. Karen Smith, who is a registered adjudicator with the Irish Dance Commission in Dublin, Ireland.
Medieval English Dancers
English Country Dancing, which was created in festivals held in rustic English villages, became popular at the courts of the Tudor manarchs in the 16th and 17th centuries. The steps demonstrated and taught today will be the versions danced in the Society for Creative Anachronism, an international medieval re-creation organization.
Davidson School of Scottish Dancing
Established in 1967 under the direction of Catherine Fisher, the Davidson School continues to keep alive the traditions and culture of Scotland through the art of dance. The Davidson School of Scottish Dancing is dedicated to the development and promotion of Scottish Highland Dancing, which got its start in early centuries of Scotland. We offer dance instruction for children ages 4 and up. Our teachers are members of the British Association of Teachers of Dance (BATD) as well as adjudicators with the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (SOBHD).
